Little Lad's Cafe is Solving America's Health Problems -- One Customer at a Time

April 7, 2009

Hello Little Lad’s Basket,

I just wanted to write and say thank you for providing such an amazing meal be it breakfast, lunch, or taking food home for dinner (sometimes I do all three)!
I have been eating at Little Lads Basket since I started working in the area 7 months ago and discovered you via www.menupages.com. I took a chance and boy did it pay off.
I have tried to write several 5 star excellent reviews on menupages.com but have not seen mine posted yet, hopefully soon.

I tell the people in my office as well as my friends and family about how impressed I am with your establishment every single day it seems. They say jokingly that I am “obsessed” but I just love it so much I have to tell people and share the treasure I’ve found. I am not a “vegan” but have slowly begun to eat in this manner more and more because I enjoy the taste as well as the health benefits. I think the US is becoming more and more aware of the “you are what you eat” idea and paying more attention to what they feed themselves. I strongly believe your restaurant is helping people one person at a time to live healthier and more satisfying lives.

So again, thank you so much for being you. I’ll be visiting very soon!
Warm Regards,
Rebecca Shaw

Dear Larry,

Yesterday, I received a call from my doctor, who was in great alarm. My
blood tests indicated that my cholestrol spiked over 125 points since my
last exam 1.5 years ago. He wanted me to take the test again to ensure
there was no error - how could my cholestrol surge to 275 (danger level) in
such a short time?

That's easy enough to answer. I was very busy at my job this past year and
stopped coming to Little Lad's. I see now what a mistake that was.
Before coming to Little Lad's my cholestrol was high (between 265 - 275).
It was only after eating at Little Lad's for a year that my cholestrol had
dropped to normal levels. I know now what I have to do - I have to come
back to Little Lad's every day.

This is not a difficult decision to make. Certainly, I had missed the
deliciousness of your foods this past year but thought work came first and
so ate from restaurants that were close by (across the street or around the
corner) to "save time." I won't be here to save time if I keep up those
bad eating habits (which I never enjoyed in the first place).

In fact, my health comes first. I will see you every day from now on -
it's that or medication and there's no way I'm going on meds when I can
cure what ails me by eating at Little Lad's!

A million thanks Larry for providing nutritious and delicious foods that
make me healthy! What you do is certainly a community service!!!

See you again tomorrow! (Oh, and the Fruit & Nut Bread is phenomenal. It's
the first time I tried it. Wow!!!)
Best regards,
Sally

Here is a great article about us at The Phoenix by Jessica Porter:

Okay, okay, I confess. I thought the whole Little Lad’s thing was a little strange, especially when I heard whisperings of the founders being religious. When their restaurant was on Exchange Street, ... MORE

Here is a great article about us at Main Today:

I'm not very smart when it comes to vegan fare. So when I saw a sign at Little Lad's Bakery and Cafe saying they use no animal products, then saw one of the soups of the day listed as "Fisherman's Chowder," I thought nothing of it. ... MORE
